Alpha 360 LLC · Virtual Bench

train 360. run 24/7.

A critical facilities bench that runs in a browser: eleven live plant systems that behave the way the real ones do — power and switchgear, electrical distribution, motors and drives, the water-cooled chiller plant, the data-hall air side, liquid cooling, the boiler room, diesel fuel, fire and life safety, BMS controls and instrumentation — with 89 graded drills and a floor clock. Open a lab from any training module; the bench loads that drill, you work it, and it grades every step.

Virtual Bench — power page: switchgear face, synchroscope, HMI one-line and the drill card

Page 1 · Power, mid-drill. Utility is back after a loss, the generator is carrying 620 kW, the retransfer delay is running and the synchronizer is about to take over. Steps 1 and 2 are checked off; the recorder has every event. Every switch on the door works.

Power and plant, page by page

Power

Utility main 52U and generator breaker 52G on a common bus. Synchroscope, sync lamps, sync-check 25, undervoltage 27, reverse power 32. Engine start, governor raise/lower, control mode MAN / AUTO / TEST. UPS with a real battery clock. EPO.

Mechanical plant

Four chillers on common headers, two duty and two standby. Four CWPs and four CHWPs with their own HOAs, any pump for any chiller. Isolation valves with end-switches, flow proving, anti-recycle, four tower cells, TES ice tank with a divert valve. Fed from the same bus — fail utility on page 1 and the plant drops on page 2.

What the operator sees

Switchgear door and plant panel with lights, meters and pistol-grip breaker switches. An HMI with one-line, alarms, manual and I/O pages. A sequence-of-events recorder. A coach line that says what the lights mean and what to do next — and a red strip that explains every blocked action.

Thirteen graded drills

The instructor loads a scenario from the Instructor tab. The bench sets the mode, injects the fault, sets the time limit, and freezes until the operator presses START. Pass and fail are decided by the bench — load dropped, out-of-phase closure, chilled water over 55 °F, start aborted on low flow, over time — and the whole recorder goes on the record.

Power

Loss of utility, automatic. Loss of utility, manual operation. Generator fails to start. Utility sensing relay stuck. Out-of-phase retransfer. Load test in parallel.

Plant

Chiller rotation by the BAS. The operator fast swap. Loss of utility, plant recovery. Condenser water, basin low. Pump fails in rotation. Isolation valve failed to open. TES valve failed.

Cause & origin

Thirteen injectable faults — lifted wires, stuck relays, jumpered shutdowns, dead motors, failed actuators. The drill is not over until the operator names what failed first and why.

Subscription, not a download

The Virtual Bench is hosted. An operator seat gives one person every drill and a saved record of every run. A facility seat adds a roster — who has passed what, who is overdue, assign a drill to a shift, export the training record for audit. Part of the hosted Alpha 360 platform.

The demo runs a utility-loss drill by itself, narrated, in about two minutes — then hands you the controls for the same drill. One drill, nothing saved. Works on a laptop; best at 1366×768 or larger.
